SRT334i2 is used to build an infrastructure for positioning and telecommunication in environments where standard systems for these purposes do not work. In technical terms SRT334i2 is a portable RF equipment with support for duplex communication on the 2.4 GHz ISM band. It may be used for both positioning (RF tag) and routing (RF router) purposes, both of which are explained in further detail below. The coverage area of the device can be adjusted for positioning and routing individually in order to best fit the local environment where it is installed. Radio operation frequencies can be adjusted so that multiple networks can be set up within the same area without interference.
SRT334i works with all products in SRT’s i-series: SRT306i, SRT326i, SRT346, SRT330i, SRT330i2 and SRT Electronic Monitoring Unit.
Each RF tag may be programmed with fixed position information which is broadcast to all compatible SRT alarm units within the transmission range. The information sent from the SRT334i is a custom text string. The text string can be formatted as a GPS coordinate which will make the resulting alarm message generated in the alarm device look like a regular alarm.
When the SRT334i2 functions as an RF router it forms a closed network together with other routers in the vicinity in order to relay information, like alarm events, to an end terminal. In this way a network of RF routers can be used to cover an area lacking cellular coverage. At the event of an alarm a message is relayed through the network until it reaches a designated alarm receiver. The RF router network can also be used to return message delivery confirmations back to the original alarm sender.
SRT334i2 detects and reports tampering attempts, power outages and critical battery levels to any nearby alarm units. Such status notifications may optionally be monitored with SRT’s IPS management equipment (sold separately).
