SRT299, SRT306 and SRT AVANT Fleet
What happens if the unit cannot get a GSM-signal?
SRT299 and SRT306 go into sleep mode in order to save battery power. If the alarmbutton is pressed while in a non signal area, the alarm message is saved in the unit and sent as soon as the device gets a signal again.
How does SRT work with support matters?
All support questions are best asked through the use of the website contact form. When SRT receives a support question we process that question as soon as we can.
What does the guarantee include?
The guarantee includes 12 months free reparation of all manufacturing errors.
How long is the guarantee?
The guarantee for all SRT products is 12 months.
Which emergency service centers can the SRT unit be connected to?
The unit can be connected to all Swedish emergency service centers including SOS Alarm, Securitas, Svensk BevakningsTjänst and Rapid.
Can I connect the alarm to a mobile phone?
Yes, it is possible. The unit can be configured to send an SMS containing GPS coordinates or a Google Maps link to the mobile phone of your choice.
What is the margin of error in a GPS-receiver?
Approximately 15 meters.
Where can I buy SRT?s products?
You can either contact SRT?s sales department or look for an SRT partner near you in our partners page.
When does the unit use GPRS communication?
When the unit is set to continuously transmit data, e.g. GPS coordinates. GPRS is a cost efficient alternative to other means of wireless data transmission.
Can I use a prepaid (pay-as-you-go) mobile phone service with my SRT unit?
This is not possible if the unit is to be connected to an emergency service center. SRT generally discourages using prepaid services with our units.
What is GeoFencing?
GeoFencing is a function that enables the unit to send an alarm when it is outside a certain area. The area is defined by setting a radius from a certain coordinate. SRT recommends using radiuses no less than 200 meters.
Can I configure my unit myself?
Yes, configuration of the unit is possible by using SMS commands.
Can I replace the battery in my SRT unit?
Yes, but all battery replacements is performed by SRT. If your SRT unit needs a battery replacement please contact the SRT support through our contact form.
Can the I perform a GPS position request?
Yes, if you send the proper SMS to the device it will reply with an SMS containing the current or most recent GPS position.
Does the unit work with 3G wireless communication?
No, SRT has not implemented 3G capabilities in any of its products due to the increased power consumption this involves.

How do I send an alarm?
An alarm is sent by pressing the alarm button for 5 seconds.
What happens when I press the alarm button?
After pressing the alarm button for 5 seconds the unit will vibrate once to confirm that the alarm request has been registered. When the unit is done sending the alarm message the unit will vibrate twice to confirm this.
How long does the battery last?
The batteries in the SRT299 and the SRT306 last about 35 hours running at maximal functionality.
What does maximal functionality mean?
This means that the unit?s GPS is constantly seeking position and that the GSM is on.
Do SRT have any references?
Customers that today use SRT?s personal alarms are among others Relacom, Vattenfall, The Swedish Police, Eltel and Telia.
What are the dimensions and weight of the unit?

How long does it take to recharge the unit?
After 24 hours of usage a recharge takes about 2 hours. Before using the unit for the first time it should be charged at least 4 hours.
What do the status LEDs indicate?
See the quickstart guides for SRT306 and SRT299 respectively for information on the meaning of the status LEDs.
What does intelligent power saving mode mean?
In this mode GPS and GSM functionality is set in order to obtain an optimal running time.
Can the unit be used to surveil vehicles or other objects?
Yes, this is one of the main areas of use for SRT products. SRT mainly works with customized solutions in this area.
My unit is beeping. What does that mean?
That the unit is beeping means one of two things: either it is running low on battery and needs to be recharged, or the SIM card is out of place. In the latter case, turn the unit off, take the SIM card out and try inserting again.
What kind of accessories are there?
Available accessories for both SRT299 and SRT306 are wall socket charger, car charger, USB cable, 2 different kinds of bags and lanyard key strap. Available for the SRT299 is also a metal chain with clip.
I cannot turn off my unit. The indicator LED:s keep flashing and the unit won't stop vibrating. What should I do?
Charge the alarm for at least 2 hours and make sure the unit has GSM connectivity. Thereafter try to turn the unit off.

Is it possible to have more than one alarm button in my car?
Yes.
Where in my car can I install the unit?
There are several places suitable for installment, one of the most common ones being inside or behind the glove compartment.
Who can install my SRT Avant Fleet in my car?
SRT recommends PM-shoppen in Solna, Stockholm due to their prior experience with installing the SRT Avant Fleet.
