About SRT
History
Scandinavian Radio Technology (SRT) AB’s history begins with Standard Radio Telefon AB, a company established in 1938 by the ITT Corporation. The main task of the company was to develop and manufacture radio and telecommunications equipment for the entire ITT organization.
In early 1990’s the company was divided into a number of smaller entities, there among Standard Radio Telecom AB which continued the work formerly performed by the old company’s telecommunications department.
Scandinavian Radio Technology AB, the company in its current state, was established in late 2004 with the intention of continuing the work done by Standard Radio Telecom AB as well as intensifying the development of products utilizing wireless communication in the areas of alarm and positioning.
Heritage
As a consequence of our past the company today has vast experience of development of wire bound products, many of which still can be found in SRT’s product range. Our wire bound products have all been developed for industrial use, with primary focus on high reliability in Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications.
Our wired bound products can today be found in aluminum can disposal machines, weather stations, base stations, traffic cameras, repeaters and parking meters. The wire bound products are often used in environments where stoppages result in high costs and huge difficulties for the client.
Today and the future
Today the main areas of product development in SRT are in alarm and positioning. This is done while retaining the knowledge from product development for industrial use.
To start with we have today expanded our M2M product range to products utilizing wireless communication. Today the main area of use for these products is automatic meter reading.
Since being established in 2004, we have reached great success with our alarm products intended for protection of individuals and mobile property. We are Sweden’s leading manufacturer of personal alarms and have established a partnership with the biggest emergency service centers (SOS Alarm, Securitas, Rapid and SvenskBevakningstjänst). After several major projects for various clients we are also known to be a reliable and timely supplier of personal alarms. Our alarm products are continuously developed in regard to functionality, mechanics and communications.
SRT’s ambition is to become Europe’s leading supplier of alarm units for the protection of individuals and mobile property.
